Dr. Barrese graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2009. Like Dr. Luccarelli, he played all four years of varsity baseball as a pitcher. After graduation, he attended the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences where he earned a Master's degree in Biology. During this time, Dr. Barrese decided to pursue a career in dentistry.
Dr. Barrese attended New York University College of Dentistry and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He was inducted into the prestigious honors society known as Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was awarded the Dean Edward G. Kaufman Award for Academic Excellence. While a student, he participated in the Honors in Orthodontics program to gain more experience and education in the field of orthodontics, while serving as President of the NYU Orthodontic Society. Dr. Barrese took great pride in participating in mission trips to Maine and Grenada to provide dental care for underprivileged communities.
After NYU, Dr. Barrese completed his specialty training at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. He earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, while also earning another Master's degree in Oral Biology for his research in virtual planning in oral surgery and orthodontics to correct dentofacial deformities.
In private practice, he enjoys the challenge of treating complicated orthodontic cases requiring adjunct orthognathic surgery, like those with cleft palate, or dentofacial abnormalities.

Dr. Barrese loves learning about the newest and most technologically advanced treatments available in orthodontics. He frequently attends new courses and seminars around the country to learn new methodologies that can be implemented in everyday practice to give his patients the most time-efficient and excellent results.
Dr. Barrese's training allows him to offer traditional orthodontic treatments, as well as the most advanced techniques in orthodontics including lingual braces, Invisalign, Invisalign teen, and TADs.
Thanks to his extensive training at Stony Brook University, Dr. Barrese provides the latest in treatments for those patients whose dental and health needs exceed the scope of orthodontic treatment alone, and require corrective jaw surgery with the aid of a surgeon.

Outside of the Practice
Dr. Barrese was born and raised in Staten Island. He currently lives with his wife Nicole in New York City. When he's not in the office, he enjoys spending time on the golf course, rooting for the Yankees and Jets, and seeing a Broadway show. You may also find him "nerding" out in front of an Xbox or Playstation.
